Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare to establisha utilities work site
   • Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), environmental and sustainable energy control measures and workplace policies and procedures for the site are identified, obtained and applied
2. Job requirements for the work site are obtained and discussed with relevant persons/ to confirm the work schedule
3. Hazards are identified and reported to relevant person/s to assess risks and control measures implemented in accordance with workplace procedures
4. Work is confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with job requirements and workplace procedures
5. Resources, equipment, tools, materials, drawings, notices and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for the work are identified, obtained and checked for correct operation and safety in accordance with workplace procedures and manufacturer instructions
6. Responsibilities for work site safety and emergency response procedures for an incident at the work site are checked and confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
7. Client issues are referred to relevant person/s in accordance with industry standards and workplace procedures
8. Site preparation, safety plan and work schedule are confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
9. Establish a utilities work site
   • WHS/OHS risk control measures, schedule of work and workplace procedures for carrying out work are followed
10. Machines/plant/equipment are confirmed as being safe in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
11. Relevant tools and equipment required for the work are selected and used correctly and safely in accordance with manufacturer instructions and workplace procedures
12. Work is carried out to the required standard, without waste of materials or damage to equipment, the surrounding environment or services and using sustainable energy principles
13. Unplanned events or conditions are referred to relevant person/s for instructions in accordance with workplace procedures
14. Quality and safety checks of work are carried out in accordance with workplace procedures
15. Complete work and relevant documentation
    • WHS/OHS risk control measures for work completion are followed
16. Work site is tidied and made safe in accordance with workplace procedures
17. Tools, equipment and any surplus resources/materials are cleaned, checked and securely stored in accordance with workplace procedures
18. Relevant person/s are notified of work completion in accordance with workplace procedures
19. Work completion documentation is completed accurately and provided to relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
